Alton Water

Alton Water Reservoir is a really beautiful Reservoir located in south east Suffolk with an 8.2 mile perimeter walk. Please see the map for a general location.

It is fairly walker friendly and the paths are nice and wide but there are a couple of hills on the far side ( about 4 miles in) that are not wheelchair or buggy friendly but if you stay to the visitor centre side (where most of the best views are) or on the other side nearest the Dam, it is fairly accessible.

It also caters for watersport activities including fishing (catch and release) to sailing.

There is also a cafe and campsite for those that want to make a day trip or longer.
